Sharon suffered an ischemic stroke on Monday February 14. We think it’s because dad didn’t get her  a good enough Valentine’s Day gift 😂.
They had just gotten home from a wonder cruise two days before. They were out getting groceries and mom didn’t feel good and was having a hard time walking/standing. Dad brought her home and unloaded the groceries and in that short time moms health declined to the point that dad carried mom to the car and drove her to urgent care. With in 15 minutes the doctor gave TPA to her to break up the clot. She was then transferred to McAllen hospital. She had an MRI yesterday and it shows she also has a brain aneurysm. They were going to do surgery but have since decided the risk was too high.

She is doing great. She has function in her limbs but is struggling with her speech. She will be transferred to the stroke rehabilitation center in the hospital soon  as will be there for 6-14 days depending on her progress.

Journal entry by Rick Radl

It’s September and fall is sure in the air. Trees are turning right before our eyes across the lake. We thought we’d be in Texas this coming week but, no. Rick is having some significant heart problems. We are doctoring with some very terrific Doctors in Fargo. They are running test after test to find out why his potassium keeps dropping to a serious low level.
i am in a eye exercise class to try to revive my vision. I’ve had problems since my aneurysm surgery last year. This program is 32 weeks long and for stroke and traumatic brain injury. So far after 4 weeks I see little improvement. But….I will keep it going. I get awful headaches after for a day.
Rick is going to have an ablation of his hear the first week of Oct. we hope. He is still having lots of tests first. After his surgery….on to Texas.

We laid my mom to rest last Thursday. She’s been gone for a year. Just my sister and I and our husbands. It was a beautiful day and a hard goodbye. Now she is next to our dad. They were wonderful parents, and a cute couple.

Life in general is good. I hope you are in good health and God’s Grace.   Thanks for your support.
