Journal entry by Jim Heyer

Sharon’s coming along getting better bit by bit.  No more dialysis. Maneuvers around with walker by herself. Sat out on the deck in the sunshine yesterday.

The kids have been awesome in helping out, at least one of them staying overnight everyday.
Cooking, cleaning, keeping meds up to date.

The Nephrologist wanted blood sugars 4 times a day.  We all learned to stick fingers and do tests, and inject insulin. Now the other day we finally got a continuous reading glucometer which permits taking readings with the wave of a special Reader.  A huge help. Achieved a1c of 6.8 at doc the other day!

I had my knee replacement surgery on the 11th at the VA Hospital. Again the kids were great help in making it happen.
Still hobbling around but getting a bit better day by day also. H
