Newest Update

Journal entry by Sharon Fox

Good Afternoon,

Thought it was about time for an update.  This may be the last time I post.  I am doing very well.  I have started walking and am up to .8 mile.  It is not fast and certainly not pretty but I can do it.  The donor site wound is about 75% healed and the skin is forming fast now.  All that is left to do is get rid of the third hip, the edema around the original site, and get some stamina back.  My PT is going to meet me at the gym in early May and give me a routine that I can do to build myself back to almost normal.  April has been a month of steady progress.  I am off of most drugs, just an occasional tylenol, and an occasional cold pack.  An ultra sound in May will determine if the blood clots have dissolved for I am really ready to be off the expensive eliquis.  So all in all doing so very much better.

For all of you who have stuck by me through this long and involved process to heal, I am so very grateful for such good friends.  It has been a journey I did not wish to do but it seems life does throw us curve balls.  I know so much about medical products and issues and I hope that is knowledge I never have to use again.  A huge and heartfelt thank you for all you have done with calls, texts, prayers and visits.  My progress has happened because all of you believed in me and gave me encouragement when things did not look rosy.  So now, as I go out into the world, I am grateful for all I can do and the wonderful people I know.  You are all the best!!!

Much love to you,
Sharon
