Shari’s Story

Site created on February 26, 2018

It is with a heavy heart that we share that Shari is in a fight for her life. It all started with a trip to the ER with what she thought was bronchitis. Which then lead her to finding out she had the flu and the virus was attaching her heart. Her body was in shock as it tried to fight off the virus and her heart became very weak. With her heart needing help an Impella was put in place. Unfortunately the Impella pump wasn't enough and a VA Ecmo (life support) was needed to support her organs so her body could heal. The hope is that while she is being supported the  flu will take its course and her organs will regain strength and function. The nurse said this is a marathon not a sprint. She has a long road ahead and we have created this page to keep her friends and family that love her so dearly and deeply
updated on her journey. She can still use all the prayers she can get so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she continues to fight.

Journal entry by Kellie Lannon

It was a big day at the Hall House this morning Shari received her prosthetic leg and got to stand up on it!!! For the first time in eleven months she was able to look at everyone eye to eye. It was amazing to see her standing by herself. I know it is going to take time but the thought of her walking again is becoming a reality and I can’t begin to put into words how that feels after all we have seen her go through. Go Shari!!!
