Journal entry by Shannon Stelzer —
While being diagnosed with breast cancer is one of the most terrifying things that can happen to any woman, the love and support I have received from everyone has been such a gift. I know it's going to be a tough journey, especially the first 6 months, that out pouring of support shows me that I'm gonna come out stronger, wiser, and better than ever. I've created this site to help support my children as much as anything. The first major battle is going to be at the beginning of the year when I have my double mastectomy. My recovery will be about 2 months and I know I can't do this alone. Every bit of support means everything to me. Please encourage every woman you know to regularly do their self checks because that's how mine was detected and I am so grateful we caught it early.
Patients and caregivers love hearing from you; add a comment to show your support.
