Janet’s Story

Site created on March 7, 2020

It is with a heavy heart that we share this news with you: on February 14th Mom called us and said that she hadn’t been feeling well, she had been going to see doctors, blood work had been done as well as a CT scan that showed she has a Mass on her liver. Later that week a biopsy was done and at that point we received the news that is was a cancerous tumor, and needed to do an MRI. The MRI results were not what any of us wanted to hear "terminal liver cancer".

With complete devastation and the outcome no one expected we all needed a few days to process, reach out to immediate family and accept the news.

As a Family we decided the best way to stay connected to everyone would be through Caring Bridge. If you know Janet you know she has A LOT of friends and at this time she is not strong enough to have visitors, we are sure you understand. We encourage you to leave messages, tell stories and stay connected though this site. We will do our best to keep you informed of her progress through our journal entries.

A Go-Fund-Me page has been set up for Janet to help pay for her medical expenses. This incredible women has been there to help so many in life and now we have an opportunity to do something for her.

Please Keep Mom in your prayers for comfort. We love each and every one of you. Your prayers, love and support are truly a blessing.

God Bless,
Janet’s Family

Newest Update

Journal entry by Brian Whalen

On April 18th Heaven gained a beautiful soul at 2:39 this Morning. Mom received her Angle Wings. She was such an inspiration to all. I have learned over the last couple of weeks what an impact she had on so many lives. The texts, messages and all the beautiful cards, kept telling us what amazing person my Mom is. She was a favorite to so many, she was a really good friend to so many. Everyone loved her contagious laugh, her beautiful smile, her crazy spunky personality, her kindness to care for others. How she helped so many to stay on the right path. At one point I thought to myself how was I so blessed to have this incredible lady as my Momma!!!

We would like to thank all who have supported us and encouraged our family and Mom as she went through this journey to go Home. Your incredible outpouring of love, support, and generosity has made all the difference in getting through this difficult time...You are all such an amazing blessing and we couldn’t have done this without all of you!!!

Our plan is to have an amazing celebration of life for Mom at her home Church of Woodland Hills when the Covid situation allows. We will keep you updated on this event, until then, Thank you all again and God Bless!!!
