Sean’s Story

Site created on March 17, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Saturday March 13th, Sean was found unconscious and very cold, it appeared he had fallen while hiking . An ambulance was called and upon arrival to Regions Hospital, Sean went into cardiac arrest. In attempt to bring his body temperature up, he underwent surgery, placing tubes to warm him internally. The first 24 hours after surgery were critical, Sean’s vitals were unstable, he was sedated and placed on a ventilator, the doctors didn’t think he would make it. With each day his vitals have gotten more stable and the nurses have called him a miracle.

Today we get to celebrate Sean!!  Six weeks ago we didn't know if he'd see this birthday.  He is making slow and steady progress.  Between physical therapy, chiro and Dr appts it's pretty quiet on the home front.   Our days are pretty low key and simple to allow time for rest. Today was a perfect day, bright and sunny. Sean and I started in Stillwater with coffee along the river just enjoying being outside by the water and nature.    Tonight we are having takeout from the new Thai Restaurant in town with Heather and Kyleigh. Just being together and enjoying each others company is such a gift. We are so grateful, thankful and blessed to have our miracle boy home with us !!!  Thank you all for all the love and prayers !!!
