I want to send my condolences to the Nugent family also. I got to work and talk with Sean a lot during my fellowship way back in 1997-99 and can vouch for his talent. I really liked working with him, including that he wasn't timid about expressing his educated opinions. It helped me learn. I'm so sorry he has died so young from this terrible illness. He clearly connected with many people here on a personal level and will be greatly missed.

Sending our condolences to the whole Nugent family. Sean was such an important part of our CCDOR work community - a colleague so generous with this time and talent. Personally he was knowledgeable on many subjects - great to have a conversation with (politics, bands, restaurants, sports) and had many great stories (e.g. when he delivered furniture in LA for a summer job...to actress Michelle Pfieffer among others). Our hearts are heavy. XO

Damon and I are heartbroken over this news, we will miss Sean so much and his smiling face. What an amazing person he was. Always happy to hang out and do anything. Such a foodie, dog lover and traveler. Sean, we are so sorry this happened to you, you didn't deserve this. You will always be in our hearts. Love Damon and Stephanie

Dear Nugent Family, I am in disbelief that Sean is gone. He was such a big part of the CCDOR community. We all relied on him to help us organize our project data so we could track participants throughout the study. He was always willing to tweak a report to help us get the data we needed as the study evolved. He was in high demand at CCDOR because of his skills and professionalism. Plus, he was a really nice guy. I am so sorry for your loss.

Sean was a great fixture in CCDOR. I've known him for over a decade but did not know that Sean was an avid runner in his youth and had set records in CA--how cool! He was a great colleague and friend. Sean's love for baseball was evident and it was his way of bringing people together. Prior to the pandemic, Sean organized our CCDOR Twins games and it was always a blast to attend. Sean also introduced me to all the delicious places in the Twin Cities for great eats as well. He also set the trend cause Sean was the first person I knew to have a Tesla before it became a thing--I remembered we all went to the parking lot to check it out :). He also showed up to support my husband's band at breweries in the North Loop cause he too loved live music. My husband and I were fortunate to have Sean as a guest at our wedding. He will be missed by many.

I worked with Sean at the VA on a project for 4 years, haven't talked with him in a couple years. Sean was a real solid professional, always rose to the occasion and contributed more than expected with a sincere drive to getting the best quality work accomplished. He was a great person to talk to and hang out with. I 'm shocked and saddened to learn he's not around anymore, a great loss for us but he won't be forgotten.

I am so sad to hear of Sean’s passing. He was a terrific co-worker and friend. I’ll never forget when he first got his Tesla! He gave me a ride and was so excited to explain to me all the cool features the car had to offer. He was so proud of that vehicle. Rest in peace my friend, you’ll be missed.
