Newest Update

Journal entry by Amanda Welcome

Hello everyone,
I know it has been a while since we have done an update. Dad has been home for about 2 weeks now. Yesterday was a big appointment for us. It was kind of the appointment that was going to tell us about his recovery.  It was not a good appointment for dad. We found out that the nerves for his right arm were ripped out of his vertebrae. This could be the nerves regrow, or that he could be down for 9 months with physical therapy and still need surgery to repair the damage, and as a possibility might not get movement back (more than he has) to his right arm.

The good news was that the Dr did say his bones are healing well and he is able to have the Aspen collar off at his discretion.

We appreciate all of your prayers and support. Those of you that know my dad know slow and patient is damn near impossible for him. We do know that he is looking at a very long road to recovery, in dad time it feels like forever. They said he could be out for 6-9 months. He was told he can do office work, but no commercial driving, motorcycles, or snowmobiles. (9 months out is February).

We continue to ask for your prayers and support. You will never know how much we all appreciate  it. If you feel compelled to help at all please reach out to Justine or I. If you want to donate via check, Justine and I have a savings account set up for dad that we have been putting the money into. You can reach out to Justine (763)516-8274 or myself, Amanda (763)516-5248. We will answer text, or calls. We might not answer if we dont have your number in our phones but leave a message and we will get back to you!

Again, thank you thank you thank you! Justine and I have been truly overwhelmed by all your support. Justine is heading back to Duluth this weekend to see how it goes, I will still be at my parents house in Zimmerman for a bit of time.
