Journal entry by Scott Torgeson

The sun filters through the trees in my sister's garden on this beautiful Spring morning  The tulips lean to the east soaking in the warmth.  I can see sister Linda beginning her doggie walk with little pooch, Remi, coffee mug in hand.  I am reminded of my own "beginning" just over six months ago, this journey of healing and renewal.  This journey isn't complete, don't know that it ever will be.  But the healing continues, my wounds, with the daily help of the above mentioned sister and the support of family and so many friends, are so much better.  There is little talk of further surgery from my doctor.  Strange as it sounds, I look forward to the day, soon I hope, when I can focus on the healing of my burns and grafted skin, all open wounds closed.

My life has returned to some normalcy.  I'm driving again, I help Grandson Colton with online school Tuesdays and Fridays ( this is the most rewarding and "normal" thing I do.)  I can help, a little, with tasks around the house and in the garden.  I even played 9 holes of golf!  Erik and I are looking at plans for rebuilding at the river.  I took my first trip back there a couple weeks ago.  I knew it would be difficult, seeing the destruction the fire produced, and it was.  I saw neighbors clearing their land, preparing for the future and I decided to do the same.  I am able to look forward only because of the love and support I have received from all of you.  My heart is full, my gratitude endless.  This is the last post for me on Caring Bridge.  I hope to see you on the back 9.

With love,
Scott
