Scott’s Story

Site created on July 25, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.  Scott was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer mid-July 2018. On August 6, 2018, after furthering pathology it was determined that it is NOT in fact lung cancer but a germ cell tumor.  This is better news for prognosis and we are thankful.  It is an aggressive cancer around his bronchial tubes. Treatment of radiation and chemo has already started.  We are looking to Jesus the Great Physician as we proceed with the treatment plan.  Scott's desire is that God be glorified in our journey.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Scott and Carol Emig

Good Evening.  Enjoying the beautiful fall weather here in the Miami Valley.  This is a long overdue update!  Scott's last scan was Sept. 3 and I  did not post any results on here due to a few circumstances.  Our doctor left the practice we were seeing him at so that meant he did not call us with scan results as he had done in the past.  We collaborated with a couple of radiologists that we know and they let us know that the mass had not changed but there was something in his left lung that they determined to be inflammation or infection.  We had an appointment with the doctor that took Dr. Sabiers place, but in the meantime we decided to nix that appointment.  We chose to follow him to his new practice and that delayed our follow-up appointment to Sept. 25.  Long story short, scan question is probably some scarring due to radiation that is still working in his body and his blood test numbers are looking great this time.  Next scan and blood test will be in November.  Thanks again for all your prayers in our behalf.  He is feeling great and we are praising God.
