Sarah’s Story

Site created on September 28, 2020

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We will use this as one centralized place to share updates. Thank you for visiting.

For about 2 years now, I(Sarah) have experienced worsening headaches and neck pain. I’ve seen a number of specialists including chiropractors, physical therapists, orthopedic doctors, orthopedic surgeons, etc. I just recently had an MRI of my cervical spine. On Friday, September 25, we were told that I have a large cervical cord mass. Below is our story as it unfolds.

Hello everyone,

We received wonderful news from the MRI: there is NO EVIDENCE of residual or regrowing tumor! We are relieved and thankful. Thank you for your prayers and care. You all continue to minister to us with texts, emails, meals, gift cards, housecleaning, visits, and many other ways. Thank you!

There’s still a chance the tumor may come back. If it is going to come back, it will be in the next 5-10 years. I will have MRIs annually for at least 10 years. My next MRI will be in December 2022.

Considering the significant neurological improvements I’ve had since surgery, Dr York said there’s a good chance of continuing improvements over the next year. That was very encouraging for me to hear!

As Casey stated in the previous post, I still have a long way to go. I do not feel “normal,” I do not feel like I did before surgery. You may refer back to the previous post for more details and prayer requests.

Again, thank you all so much for your love and care. We are so thankful for each of you.
