Journal entry by Sarah Przygocki

Five days post op- “A major surgery, recovery should be treated accordingly”. Hello my friends. I had my post op appt today and learned that the tumor they removed is NEGATIVE!! Phew! I also learned that recovery might be slow going. Her words were “This was a major surgery and recovery should be looked at and treated accordingly. There is no rushing this healing process.” I have been burdened by the heavy thoughts that this paralysis of my lower right half of face, along with not being able to open my mouth all the way, bite off food from utensils and this lazy tongue when I try to speak while my head is turned, could be permanent. She said I’m only five days post op and everything she had to move and tug on is swollen, mad and kind of in shock. She anticipates this fading away as I heal. The stitches were removed today and I have quite the scar. It’s painful and tender but I’m so glad those suckers are outta there. I am back home with Nick and the kids as of now. I am so grateful for the time I was able to spend recovering at my parents house (huge shout out to them for taking such amazing care of me!) but I missed these kiddos too much...well and I guess Nick too😉. I will be home resting and not overdoing it because everything still hurts so much and if I move the wrong way or too fast I feel like I’ve been shot. Hoping for better times ahead. Grateful the tumor was benign!! Thank you to everyone for your love and support and FOOD!! We appreciate everything and everyone!
