❤️ Zoe and Sarah’s Story

Site created on February 25, 2018

To all of our family and friends,

As most of you know my mom has polycystic kidney and liver disease. She is now in stage 5 kidney failure. With every blessing imaginable, her transplant surgery is scheduled for March 15th, 2018.

I remember creating a Facebook page about a year ago looking for a kidney for my mom. I thought “this is crazy, how do you ask one for a kidney!???” and “who would donate their kidney?” and “what am I thinking posting this request on Facebook?!”  Well I followed me gut instinct and I now now who that special person is and realize sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and let that guide you. We are beyond blessed, grateful and thankful for Sarah to have come into our lives. This is just the beginning of a lifetime friendship and we are honored to have her be a part of our lives.

We’ve created this website to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. We will do our best to update you frequently through this journey. Thank you for the endless love and support.

Journal entry by Alyssa Romano

Mom was discharged from the hospital today. Although we are still trying to get her pain under control, it is more important to keep her healthy and as we all know, hospitals are the breeding grounds for germs and diseases. So... we are home! Well at my house. 😀 She was exhausted and not feeling well on the way home. :(

I (Alyssa) was able to visit Sarah and her family this evening. She is doing so amazing. She is such a warrior. Her sweet mom and darling eldest son Austin are headed back to Arizona tomorrow (Austin was entered into the science fair for a project he did! good luck!) Sarah has her post op appointment tomorrow morning. Sarah is off ALL narcotics and only taking Tylenol now! Absolutely amazing!
