Journal entry by Nelda (Hollander) Dickmeyer

Day 14:  Sarah is home now. She was surrounded by family last night – we held her, sang with her, and walked her home to Jesus. We are so grateful that so many of us could be there together with her.

It is our loss that is so hard to face but we can celebrate. Sarah is with Jesus and we all experienced love on this journey that was hard to fathom. We were able to cherish every moment with her.  We have a much deeper understanding of love because of Sarah. Just one of her gifts to us over the last 15 years and one we need to carry forward is a deeper understanding of love. She is an amazing blessing to Nelda and Denny and all of us because she is a part of our life forever. We thank Jesus for sharing this child of God with us that we got to know so well. “Who you say I am”.

Psalm 139:13-16: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Thank you for lifting us up in this journey. There were so many times where the two sets of footprints became one as God answered your prayers and ours and He picked us up.  We will let you all know the plans for Sarah’s service. May God bless you all and now we pray for you - that you will cherish every moment with loved ones and that you will share his incredible love.
