Journal entry by Sarah Dameron

Hello everyone- Today I finished round 15 of chemo and radiation. I’m really grateful for mom and Rob for being there for me physically and emotionally. I felt pretty good though most of this treatment but now feel very fatigued and nauseated. The emotional toll of the many treatment side effects are sometimes overwhelming and I couldn’t be more grateful for my support system and for all of you and the kindnesses you extend. Rob and I are making the trip home and started the trip by driving through a “bomb cyclone”. We made it to Indianapolis today and hope to be home for Christmas but we are also being very careful while driving through high winds, black ice, and whiteouts. During the drive I was able to share some stories with Rob about my dad who passed away 8 years ago today. For those of you who knew and loved him, I hope you’re also able to remember him fondly during this season. Thank you all for your kindness and uplifting messages. I still have a very major surgery, months of post-surgery recovery (between 2 and 6 if everything goes well), and many medical and travel bills. My whipple surgery is now scheduled for January 31st. Thank you all for your continued support!
