Santino’s Story

Site created on February 27, 2021

On Saturday February 20, 2021, Santino fell through a skylight on a roof and sustained a devastating injury. Miraculously, he survived the thirty-foot fall. Santino was brought to Lutheran General Hospital’s ER, where the amazing staff diagnosed him as having a frontal lobe contusion, several areas of bleeding in his brain, multiple skull fractures, and internal damage to his right ear. He was quickly stabilized and transferred up to the surgical ICU. By the grace of God, Santino was able to have his breathing tube removed six days after he was admitted and is now breathing on his own. Now, he is battling to recover from his brain injury. Please keep him in your prayers and ask God to heal him. We know that God can do the impossible and know that he is at work in the midst of this tragedy.

Journal entry by Tonie Lozano

Tino had his follow up appointment with his ENT doctor today. The scar tissue was successfully removed. He will have a hearing test in 3 months to see if his hearing has improved. And, he starts his senior year on Monday 👏🏻. I am in awe of how far he has come in such a short time.
