Santino’s Story

Site created on February 27, 2021

On Saturday February 20, 2021, Santino fell through a skylight on a roof and sustained a devastating injury. Miraculously, he survived the thirty-foot fall. Santino was brought to Lutheran General Hospital’s ER, where the amazing staff diagnosed him as having a frontal lobe contusion, several areas of bleeding in his brain, multiple skull fractures, and internal damage to his right ear. He was quickly stabilized and transferred up to the surgical ICU. By the grace of God, Santino was able to have his breathing tube removed six days after he was admitted and is now breathing on his own. Now, he is battling to recover from his brain injury. Please keep him in your prayers and ask God to heal him. We know that God can do the impossible and know that he is at work in the midst of this tragedy.

You guys- Tino is going back to school tomorrow!!  He wants to get in as many days as possible before the end of the year.
This has been such a challenging three months. I never would have imagined we would be here this quickly. While we were in the hospital, we were told his healing would take time and no one could be sure exactly how he would recover. I anticipated months of rehab after the hospital. But, God answered our prayers and took care of everything. He brought so many people alongside us to help us. He healed Tino. Yes, he is different but he is doing great. God is so good 🙏🏻
