Journal entry by Sandra Garman

I met with my oncologist for a follow up appointment this week. I am healing well and my incision is healing well. He again reminded me that my cancer ESS endometrial stromal sarcoma, is best treated with the hormone blocking pill that I have been prescribed. The medication makes me a bit more tired by the end of the day but other than that there are no side effects. I am pleased also that with insurance the cost is only $2.50. Some cancer medications can be quite expensive.

Our protocol from here is for me to get PET Scan 2 times a year and to see the oncologist 3-4 times a years for follow up. My next appointment is in August.

I am very grateful to all of you who have followed our story. Thank you for your prayers for us. God answered our prayers in a remarkable way and certainly an unexpected way. I am thankful I do not have to go through chemotherapy as a treatment for my cancer.

I told my friend Keith Gandy (who survived a stroke a number of years ago) that I feel like Lazarus. I expected to be out ill for a good part of 2018 and I have been giving a new life. He said "Every day is special having had your toes dangling on the edge of eternity." I hope to keep that in mind every day and remember what a gift every day is. Pray that I will not lose the wonder of what God has done in my life. Pray that I will redeem the time and days He's given me wisely and use them for His purposes.
