Journal entry by Alex Baker

ONE YEAR!  Is it just us or did this past year simultaneously fly by and move at a glacial pace all at the same time?  It’s hard to believe but a full year has gone by since the fateful day we discovered Sam was sick but life is slowly looking more normal these days.  Normal still includes regular blood draws, doctor’s appointments and rounds of chemo (currently on 5 of 12 🙌🏻) but normal also now includes taking Randolph for walks, dinners out with friends and getting back to work.

This month we have a big round of annual appointments and scans to check that Sam’s brain is still in tip-top shape, but as of now Sam’s doctors are beyond pleased with his recovery.  He has made tremendous progress in the past 365 days, rehabilitating himself to fully walking, talking, seeing, eating and drinking (so many margaritas) and he can’t wait for even more progress to come.

We will be celebrating Sam’s 37th trip around the sun next weekend in Austin and it is not lost on us that we wouldn’t be able to do so without ALL of your continued prayers, care and friendship. Thanks for being our people!
