Dear Friends and Family, 

Salme began treatment for CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) at The Spero Clinic https://www.thesperoclinic.com in Fayetteville, Arkansas on October 27, 2020.  She will be receiving full day treatments 4 days a week for 10 to 14 weeks.  For information on how you can support Salme, please visit  https://www.caringbridge.org/public/salmeklaus
 
What happened:  Salme broke her middle toe and damaged a nerve in her foot while we were vacationing in Napa and celebrating our two-year wedding anniversary on July 21, 2020.  While the bone healed, the nerve did not.  In fact, the nerve damage intensified resulting in a systemic nervous system condition called CRPS.  After trying several treatments in Orange County with no success, she decided to go to The Spero Clinic because it is the only holistic treatment center devoted to CRPS in the United States.   It is absolutely urgent to get this progressive condition under control early on, which is why we have committed to this extensive treatment.

Salme is receiving full time 24x7 assistance with a live-in caretaker at a home we rented near the clinic.  Her address there is 1111 N. Salme wants to let everyone know how much she appreciates the cards, care packages, and thoughtful gifts she has received since starting her treatments for CRPS at the Spero Clinic in Arkansas.   She finished her 5th week at the pain clinic today and she is now scheduled for 11 more weeks of treatment (through February 2021).   She says she feels about 20% better.  It takes a lot of time and specialized care to reset a CRPS affected nervous system.   

We also want to let you know that as of December 1st, we moved into a house we rented for three months that is near the Spero Clinic.  Our new address is 2545 N. Karyn Avenue, Fayetteville, AR 72703
