Journal entry by Nathan Larsen

First off I would like to apologize for not writing a journal entry for a couple weeks. We haven’t had much free time as everyone knows. The girls are doing great. Harper finally moved into the same room as Rylee a little over a week ago!!!! It’s really nice having the girls right next to each other. Nicole and I were able to kangaroo with the girls at the same time last Monday. We were set up right next to each other. That has been the closest the girls have been to each other since birth. It was nice for Nicole and I to be able to talk to each other and be able to watch both girls while we held them. They are growing like weeds. Rylee is up to 3lbs 8oz. and Harper is 3lbs 5oz. They are little chunky monkeys with chubby cheeks, not sure where they get those from.😏 A few days ago Rylee started switching back and forth between the opti-flow and the BiPap for her O2 needs. The opti-flow provides constant pressure but no breaths through a cannula. The BiPap provides pressure and breaths through a mask. She has been doing great on the opti-flow. One step closer to getting to go home. Harper is exclusively using the BiPap but we are hopeful that she will get her chance to try the opti-flow sometime soon. The girls had their eyes checked for the second time yesterday. Their eyes are still premature but have no signs of damage. It seems like the girls hearing is pretty good too because when we talk to them they look in at us. They have been getting more vocal lately and have been smiling at us occasionally. It could be gas. 😂 I can’t believe how much the girls have grown in the last couple of weeks. I will upload pictures throughout the weekend. Please continue to pray for our daughters. Thanks again for the support.
