Newest Update

Journal entry by Joe Sharon

So today marks six months since Ryan had her stroke. I was able to be with her the last two days, normally Kristi takes her to therapy. It is fun when I get to spend time with my girl RJ. We usually only get to spent time together half day on Fridays by ourselves before her brothers are done with school. Then it’s crazy time on the weekends with everyone and different things going on for us. So the last two days have been nice to just spend time and goof off with Ryan, it reminded me of all the car rides we had just the two of us going to practice or games.
Seeing Ryan’s progress in her physical and occupational therapy was kind of eye opening. In both on Monday they were adding weights to the exercises and pushing her to do more. I would say this is helping her get her strength again, she was even able to push me off the couch the other day. Sounds kind of weird to be proud of your kid when she is able push me off the couch, but I have been encouraging her to “pick on me” but only with her right hand. Lately to go to move is to squeeze my arm or getting a few punches in on me.
Tomorrow we meet with the neurosurgeon to have a check up. Hopefully we get some positives from the latest MRI and have a good time driving around the two of us.
Sorry we haven’t done updates in a while but life happens and I get tired.
