Dear Karin,
Edwin and I have held you and your sweet family in our hearts since hearing about Ryan's sudden failing health. We're so sorry for your deep loss, and knowing how beloved he is not only in your family but the wider community that literally extends around the globe.
It was such a joy to be 'present' for his celebration of life service - seeing the host of people from the many communities you've been part of over the years. It was delightful to hear stories from Koinonia days, and Edwin has taken on his "the vastness of it all" saying! Among the many remarkable qualities he possessed was a wicked serve and spike during our post-lunch volleyball games - he was a true gentle soul but also a fair and competitive athlete with a terrific sense of humor!
I think our last connection with Ryan was on our way back to Atlanta after a Koinonia reuinion. We know he is terribly missed, and we also know you are surrounded by family and community as you grieve. I know you're a strong and heart-centered person with a steady faith - may you feel the embrace of a loving God and be comforted by sweet memories as you journey through this difficult time.
Shalom, with love,
Gail
