Ryan’s Story

Site created on December 8, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website.

Ryan is having another brain surgery at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix on Monday, December 10th. The surgeon's goal is to go in and take out the whole tumor(s). Right now, they think it may be just one, but it could be two separate ones. We have to be at Mayo by 5:30am. The surgery is expected to be done by 2 or 3pm, but can take longer depending on the complexity of the tumor.

We are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place and sincerely appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

 Thank you for visiting.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Adriana Fisher

The neurologist just called to give us biopsy results and nothing has changed. Both tumors are pilocytic astrocytomas, grade 1, with the BRAF mutation, which is amazing news! The tumors are not malignant and will likely not come back if they were removed completely. We'll be thanking our lucky stars and our mini army of supporters for the prayers and well wishes now! All this positivity from those near and far must have translated into great news...and for that, we could never thank you enough! ❤️
