Newest Update

Journal entry by Hope Riddle

Hello all. Just wanted to give you an update of what has been going on. WARNING, there is lots. lol
First. We have an event planned for December 9th planned. We are having a Wild Game Dinner. I had intentions of posting and promoting on Russ' foundation site, but tickets sold out BEFORE I even really had the chance to (there was only 100 tickets). This will tell you how much that man was loved and still is.
We have had so many things donated for his event and I will post a thank you to everyone once I get the list together. (IT WILL BE A LONG ONE). We are still trying to get donations of bottle's of alcohol for the Alcohol Yard Cart which we will be selling tips for at the event SO hopefully we will have enough, if not, I will go and buy some.
The only bad thing about this event is that it will be taking place 2 days after my final reconstruction surgery, but I refuse to cancel either one. LOL. This surgery will be the LAST of my cancer journey and I want that to happen sooner rather than later AND this event is TOO IMPORTANT to postpone. So, we are going forward with both..... I may be a little sore and I WILL NOT be able to hug people, but I will be there because I cannot even fathom not being there.
For all those attending, look for a message regarding details for parking and event news.
Second. I will be revealing the banner which we have chosen tomorrow or the next day which has been so kindly donated by StukUp Grafix once I have the final version of it. I am in LOVE with everything she has suggested so far.
Third. StukUp Grafix is also working on T-Shirt and Hoodie designs which we will be selling. I will be posting that soon.
Fourth. We have had a gentleman donate a 2-day fishing trip to Port Clinton, Ohio for Walleye fishing which will include a condo that sleeps 4 people for June of 2024. We are currently working on finding a cancer patient who is interested.
Fifth. We tentatively had a fly fishing trip which may be donated and once we get the final details on this I will let everyone know.
Sixth. We will be starting raffle's on the page probably after the new year.
Seventh. In February, the girls and I will be traveling to Harrisburg to attend the NRA Great American Outdoor Show (the largest outdoor show in the US) to personally go and speak with every outfitter and every guide in hopes of getting support for the Foundation.
AND MOST IMPORTANT. We have selected our first monetary donation recipient (recommended by my oncologist at Arnold Palmer). I will not say a name of any of our recipients unless they give us the okay. But she is a 52 year young Pancreatic Cancer Warrior who has been battling for a little while. She had the surgery (which russ was not eligible for) and all was good for a while, but it came back and has spread. HOW perfect of a choice because she and her husband love outdoors as much as russ did. So PLEASE, if you would say a prayer for her and her family.
MORE TO COME. LOVE YOU ALL. - if you know anyone looking to get rid of some alcohol, let me know... lol I have a wagon to fill for the foundation event.
