On Saturday, Aug 18, 2018, Russ Sierra and myself went to see our family doctor after hours. Our doctor told us Russ had a tumor in his left lung in the region around his heart and it is between the size golf ball and a tennis ball. It also incased some arteries and a major brochyal tube. it is putting pressure on his heart and lung.  A few days later I took him to the hospital with chest pains. He was immitted for about 4 -5 days. On Friday, Aug 24, 2018 he had a biopsy done. Then Monday, Aug 27,2018 we received the confirmation call he has Non small lung cancer (Squamous Cell Carcinomas).

The weeks that followed he was in the hospital one more time and doctor appointments with the oncologists.  The oncologists discussed treatment options.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Tina Blackney

On Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 9:30 pm We were going to bed and Russ started having trouble breathing. He told me to call the EMT's to take him to the Hospital. He had minor heart attack (Acute on chronic combined systolic and diastolic congestive heart failure and Acute respiratory failure with Hypoxia). The treatment plan is to perform a heart cathitor and add to medication routine. Three new medications are Furosemide (Lasix), Lisinopril (Prinivil), and Magnesium oxide(Mag-Ox). Now we add a cardiologist to his Care team.

He said he still plans on fight this as long as he can. So all prayers are welcomed and thank for the love and care.
