Ron’s Story

Site created on September 23, 2019

Many of you have suggested this site as an all-encompassing place to share updates and receive support. Thank you all for your compassion and encouragement.

Ron began experiencing mysterious challenges with his health in mid-August. Over the course of the next month, he saw multiple specialists and underwent comprehensive testing. Ultimately, Ron was diagnosed with CJD (Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease), a sporadic and fatal degenerative brain disorder that affects approximately 1 per 1,000,000 people each year. It is a spontaneous disease that cannot be prevented nor cured.  To learn more about Ron's diagnosis, check out the CJD Foundation: https://cjdfoundation.org

Journal entry by The Martins <3

Hello friends & family,

As you all know, my father Ron Martin passed away a week ago; at the time of his passing, we still had no official plans as to a memorial service.

I wanted to relay the information that we are working on a celebration of life and have finally nailed down a date and location:

Saturday, November 16th, 2019 at Strawbridge United Methodist Church in Kingwood, TX

Time TBD

Everybody & anybody is encouraged and welcome to come join us as we honor & celebrate the life of Ron Martin. If anybody would like to participate in the service by giving a speech or telling a fond memory of my father, please let me know.

As soon as we pin down more details I will post on here to let you guys know.

Much love,

Molly
