Site created on December 4, 2019

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Monday night, December 2nd my Dad fell in a parking lot and was brought to Fairview Ridges ER. Walking into the ER he had a seizure and fell again this fall was bad caused a sub-dermal hematoma, bleeding in the brain.  He was sent to  Region trauma center in St. Paul and had Surgery to relieve the pressure in his brain.

Dad came through the surgery and is currently in the surgical ICU at Regions.  Dad made positive steps toward recovery yesterday and the doctors will continue to monitor his progress.

He is not yet at the point to receive phone calls or visitors. Eli and I will updated here as information comes in.

Eli  and I also want to thank all of you for your prayers, and many offers to help. We truly appreciate you all and it’s very comforting to know my dad has a strong support system of wonderful caring people in his life.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Eli Bressler

Hello Everyone,
wanted to share Roy is now at three links care center in Northfield. The facility is really nice. Jill and I are still getting used to the new arrangement. To be honest we became very close to all of our friends at the VA. Jill and I have talked and we agree that although Dad's stay at an acute care facility was longer than normal, we feel blessed it was at the Minneapolis VA. Wonderful Experience!!
Quick update Roy can have personal things in his room. So the first thing Jill and I did was to get dad a super comfy chair. Hopefully, Dad likes it... the staff has told us that he enjoys watcging duck dynasty in the common area with the other Fellas who are there.
Super Exciting news. About a year ago Roy was up at Lake of Woods with a couple of his long time Fishing Buddies, Wayne Sletten and  Dan Smithstead, when Roy caught a Monster Walleye.

Dads Friends Wayne and Dan had the Walleye mounted and actullay presented him the fish this week. We are all so grateful. Thank you Dan and Wayne, i know the trip was an adventure. Getting to see Dad holding the fish we talked about so many times, that smile says it all.
