Roxanne’s Story

Site created on November 11, 2021

On Tuesday, November 9th, our mom, Roxanne was taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center from the after-effects of having COVID. She is currently on a ventilator in the ICU and stabilized. At this point, we are in a waiting game on how her body will react and recover to the treatment she is receiving. The doctors and nurses at Mercy are doing a phenomenal job caring for our mom. You will hear from us as we receive updates. At this point her condition is critical and it is a day-by-day waiting and praying for her organs to respond well and her lungs to heal. We appreciate all of your prayers and well wishes throughout this difficult time.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Audra Klinkner

It’s been a day or so since our last update  as there hasn’t been much to update on.

They removed the ventilator and mom was doing well on her own breathing. We are running into some other issues:
1) she is experiencing some inflammation in her throat which is causing her oxygen levels to not sustain and causing her to have to work harder. Right now they are ready to try another anti inflammatory as well as the bi-pap machine instead of the high flow oxygen.

2) she has had some heart concerns. We don’t know much more than they were going to monitor that more specifically.

3) she is on a lot of meds right now and she’s also got a lot of anxiety coming off of the ventilator.

Things you can be praying for:
1) The biggest request is to have the anti-inflammatory and bi-pap work. If they have to put her back on the ventilator it is much harder to pull them off the second time around. We need a big answer to prayer here.
2) pray for her anxiety as it is obviously a scary situation to be in.
3) Pray for our dad as he also is currently hospitalized with lesser symptoms and monitoring. He should be released in a couple of days.
4) Pray for Samantha- her induction got moved to Thursday evening.

Thank you for your continued prayers. We will do our best to keep everyone updated here. We usually find out updates in morning and evening and unless something significant changes if may be a day or two until we know more or have new updates.
