Rose’s Story

Site created on December 8, 2020

On November 30, 2020, Rose tested positive for COVID-19.     Just prior to that, she had not been feeling well.      Bernie, who had also recently tested positive,  took her to the Emergency Department at Avera McKennan on December 1.   She was having a tough time breathing, and her O2 levels were dangerously low.    Due to her history with B Cell Lymphoma and her current regimen of a daily chemotherapy pill, her immune system is weak.   The ER Dr quickly admitted her.

We are using this site to keep you, our awesome family and friends, updated in one place.   Rose and Bernie appreciate your prayers, support, words of hope, and encouragement.  Thank you for visiting her site.    Wendy and Dave

Journal entry by David Westergaard

Rose has been working hard with the Physical and Occupational Therapists.    Yesterday, she walked a fair distance compared to where she was at just a short time ago.

Her case manager is even talking about a discharge date soon.     👍.

From where she was at just a few weeks ago, her progress is truly an awesome miracle.   Though there are still some milestones she must meet, it is so exciting to see the next step is progressing quickly.

We so appreciate each of you.     Wendy and Dave.
