My father who is 89 just had his first Covid-19 jab a week ago. No side effects and I'm glad he got it so fast. Mine will take another few months to come through... Of course I want my family to be safe, but also everyone else, even those who refuse to believe in the virus itself... We share a world, and I fear a future where international travel might be curtailed because of the virus still being endemic in certain countries due to vaccine doubters. Some of the deranged conspiracy theories circulating online about the vaccines nearly make me fall off my computer chair when I read them... ;-) Best wishes for Heather Ri and you all from the U.K.. xxx

Our state(PA) opened up Phase 1A to those 65 & older & to those 16-64 with high risk medical conditions. I'm scheduled to get my first dose of the vaccine, along with my parents,on Feb.22,at our local hospital! A shot of hope for sure! I am glad that both you & Heather will be getting the vaccine this week!! Continued prayers for both of you!

I totally understand. I'm a chiropractor, and while I'm not opposed to vaccines (and wouldn't tell anyone to get or not to get one), I normally wouldn't be eager to get a vaccine. I got my first flu shot and will get the COVID shot as soon as I'm allowed. I have a life-threatening illness. I chose to get the flu shot because the symptoms for flu and COVID are too similar and time spent trying to determine which I had could be fatal for me. COVID isn't like anything else out there. The problems with many people are having after they "recover" are horrible.

Though I may not agree with your stated reason, I'm thrilled that you will be getting the vaccine and that Heather gets it sooner than others in her age-group typically will. It will take that "one more thing" to worry about off both your plates.

Happy to hear things continue to go well. We must all live in the moment and do what we can for others, too. This too shall pass.
