Ronald Julius Perlt, born January 24 1933 and died January 29, 2021. Our wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather will be missed forever.
Ron was born in St Paul Minnesota to Walter and Ann (Schrankler) Perlt. He worked in his father’s grocery store and enlisted in the Navy in 1952. He was sent to the Great Lakes Navy base and it was there that he met his beloved Janet (Heaton). Theirs was a love story continued  for 63 years. They married in Scarsdale New York before Ron was shipped to Guam. It was in Guam that their first daughter Patti was born. Ron and Janet moved back to St Paul after he was discharged from the Navy. In St Paul they were blessed with two more children, Karen and Ronnie.  Ron went to work in the hearing aid industry after being introduced to it by Janet’s father. He worked in both retail and wholesale areas of the industry and moved his family to Des Moines IA and Katonah NY as he advanced his career. Eventually choosing to move back to St Paul, he started his own business in February 1975. Associated Hearing Instruments started in Central Medical Building in St Paul and remains an important private practice hearing aid and audiology clinic in St Paul. As Associated Hearing took off, Ron decided he needed more work to do, so worked for several years for Siemens Hearing. He retired from Siemens at age 78 as their Midwest Regional Sales Manager.
Ron and Janet loved to boat and they owned several boats on the St Croix River. They were active members of the St Croix Yacht Club. One of Ron’s greatest honors was to be elected to Commodore of the Yacht Club in 1993.
After retiring, Ron and Janet spent many winters in Punta Gorda, Fl. They loved their time in Florida and always had their adoring poodles Boomer or Tiger with them. They were lots of parties and celebrations in Florida with their special friends there. After Janet passed away, Ron and Tiger spent many winters in Key West with Janet’s sisters Ginger and JoAnn. Key
West was wonderful, Ginger’s choice of movies was not always as wonderful, but Ron watched them anyway. His time spent with family and friends was the most important thing in his life.
He cherished his time with his sister Mahala and niece Carol and her husband Dick in Amelia Island Florida. Mahala, Carol and Dick always had fun times planned when he was there.
Ron built a townhouse in Woodbury after Janet died. He was so lucky to meet a new set of wonderful neighbors who became beloved friends. Many thanks to these folks for the love, support and help that they offered to Ron the last few years.
Ron was predeceased by his beloved wife Janet, his brother Walter and his parents. He is survived by sister Mahala, his children, Patti (Glen) Kleven, Karen (Tom) Ueland and Ron (Lynda) Perlt, also 24 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his best buddy and best dog ever, Tiger.
A private internment will be held at Fort Snelling with a celebration of Ron and Janet’s life will be held later this summer when it is safe to be together.
