Round 4 Chemo 1
This should my last entry in this journal. Tomorrow is the last chemo treatment for Ronnie!! After this he moves on to just scans on a regular basis. This past week chemo hit him much harder than it has before and  a lot earlier than before. It's rare for Ronnie to give in to being sick, but this time he had no choice He stayed in bed for 2 days - just had no energy. I learned something new about chemo. It not destroys  white blood cells but also red ones. So not only is he more susceptible to infections, but he's really anemic too.

On this Father's Day though, I'd rather talk about something else like how amazing he is as a father. It didn't have much a traditional father figure in life growing up, so creating our own family has been full of wonderful surprises for me. I love watching Ronnie be a dad, he's so good at it. I'm just so in love with what he taught our children about love, respect. integrity, hard work, serving, laughing and being the best you can. I love watching our children as adults because I see so much of their father in them.

Some of my favourite things about Ronnie: when he laughs too hard he gets the hiccups; his dad jokes; his love of serving others; the way he is almost always humming, whistling or singing; his fascination with song lyrics and their hidden meanings; the freckles! He is the world's cutest grandpa; being part of his extended family; his blue eyes - I can never resist them; his  consistant love of cherry pie, it never waivers or gives in to another flavour; times when we just enjoy being quiet together; when we read scriptures together; when he lets me win at cribbage; his love of going to the temple (when it's open); the way he tells the story of Rindercella.

Some of my favourite Ronnie quotes: "Suck. it. up." "What kind of day is it? (note: this question is required to be answered with a smile on one's face and their arms raised above their head)" "The Bank of Mom and Dad" "It's just Dad" "chakarooga!" "reason #827 why we don't need a dog"

He's an awesome guy! His family adores him and we are so happy to be transitioning out of the cancer life experiences in our lives. I am so grateful to be married to him for all eternity.

Happy Father's Day to everyone!!
