Ron’s Story

Site created on October 21, 2021

Hello dear family and friends,

On October 9th, Ron fell backwards on our front steps here in Johns Island, SC.   He hit the back of his head on concrete, resulting in three brain bleeds and multiple skull fractures.  He was taken by ambulance to Bon Secour St Francis - Charleston,  where for the past 12 days he has received truly excellent care.  Fortunately, he did not require surgery!  On the 19th, he transferred to the floor and is making progress day by day.  He has a traumatic brain injury, and will need inpatient rehab to get stronger, but the team believes he WILL continue to recover - it will take time, but time we have!!

Please leave messages here and they will be shared with him.  We send love and thank you all for your prayers and continued support.

No surgery needed🙏🏻!  Ron still goes to PT, OT and speech therapy twice a week and will continue this for some time.  He had also started seeing an oupatient neurologist who ordered an EEG Monday. He is really getting back to mostly normal and we played Yahtzee for the first time since October anf Ron got 3, yes THREE Yahtzees in ONE game!! He is also doing jigsaw puzzles and is SO much better  than me.  We send so much love to one and all- Tisha
