Ronda has been married 28 years and has two beautiful daughters who are both in college. She started an aggressive chemo program in early April which has been going well. She is surrounded by a huge support group of family and friends. Ronda is a positive soul who has always put others first in every situation in life. Please support and pray for Ronda and her amazing smile as she goes through this new journey.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Derek Atwood

Good morning everyone,

I am posting a long overdue update on Ronda. Last week marked the 2 year anniversary post treatment. She said it felt as exciting as a birthday and one I forgot of course. Luckily the girls didn’t and celebrated her with flowers. Don’t worry about a heads up girls even though I have been reminding you on key dates for over 20 years.

Anyway, I felt like this was a good time to share our gratitude to everyone that has supported our family along this journey and give an update.

In February of this year, Ronda’s body started showing signs of toxicity as a response from the Avastin maintenance chemotherapy she has been on so she stopped the therapy. She recently had a scan post therapy and everything still looks stable.

Ronda will continue to go in every 6 weeks for her port flush and every three months for an infusion to strengthen her bones and protect them from cancer growth.

This cancer journey has opened her eyes to the importance of proper nutrition and integrative health. This week Ronda started her 6 month online course at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She will be excited to share what she learns so look out.

Most importantly, thank you all for the continued prayers, flowers, messages, cards, meals and parade. Ronda still reads through her cards and watches her parade video, it is a humbling reminder of the wonderful people we have in our lives and we feel blessed and grateful.
