Last Caring Bridge for Ronald Keller from Vicki Keller.
My family and I want to thank each and every one of you for sharing such warm memories of Ron. Your comments were very much appreciated and helped all of Ron’s family navigate a very emotional and sad time. There were some fun memories as well, which uplifted all of us. The visitation for Ron was held at First Congregational Church in Naperville on February 2 and his memorial service was held at Wentz Concert Hall on the campus of North Central College in Naperville on February 3. His memorial service was a true celebration of his wonderful life and his 70 plus years as a tuba player and his over 60 years as a band director.
Ron’s dream was to be a band director since he was in 8th grade and he was able to realize that goal. He said he never felt like it was work, because each day was different and he loved everyday that he was teaching young people in the public schools and directing the adults in the Naperville Municipal Band.
Ron’s legacy will carry on through our memories, remembering his sense of humor and his many, many stories and the Thursday concerts in the park. Even though he is no longer with us physically, he will be especially remembered every Thursday night at the summer concerts in Central Park as the big door raises and we hear the musicians play “Strike up the Band”.
A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Ron's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
