Journal entry by Gwen Auman —
April 22, 2020, Ron began his second round of chemo and radiation. The first round targeted the esophageal tumor, and was successful, by the grace of God. The second round is targeting the remaining tumor in Ron's colon, and this time, the chemo is in pill form, instead of IV. The symptoms are manageable, at this point, which is a blessing, since the symptoms from the first treatment are still lingering. The challenge, this round, is for Ron to get through treatment without losing any more weight. He has lost almost a third of his body weight since first being diagnosed last summer, and cannot physically tolerate any more weight loss at this point. Ron's attitude remains positive, in the midst of it all, which is yet another blessing. We are thankful for the health care that Ron is receiving, and we pray that this treatment is as successful as the first. We are also thankful for the love and support that we continue to receive from family and friends. God is good and we are blessed.
