Journal entry by Julie Ahrens —
My goodness....it's been almost 2 years since I updated you all on Ron's progress. Well...he recovered very well from the left knee replacement in January 2018. AND...he had high right knee replaced on October 31, 2019. He is doing VERY well right now. He "ditched" the walker within 3 weeks...and has been not using the cane for the last 2 weeks. We go back to Rochester late in January for an "updated" visit with the surgeon. Yes...it was the same surgeon who did the surgery in 2018.
Ron will be coaching golf for West Central again this spring. He is already beginning to prepare some things for the practices in March.
As far as Ron's "other" visits to the doctors, he has had good reports. The only "glitch" in the progress is that he was diagnosed with diabetes in April 2019. We have this under control now...through diet and one insulin shot a day. He has lost some weight...and is feeling good. I know he is looking forward to golfing this year. With the warmer temps we have had in December...he wished he could have golfed...but the "new" knee wasn't quite ready for that.
Thank you for your friendship and your prayers.
