Rod’s Story

Site created on March 5, 2018

The last 4 weeks have been a roller coaster of emotions for our family. Our dad was diagnosed with an aggressive neuroendocrine tumor of the stomach and liver.  He had his first monthly octreotide injection a week ago.(This can take up to 3 months to work)

The tumor in his liver is growing at a faster pace than anticipated.  He will be starting the first of 10 radiation treatments on Wednesday, in hopes of shrinking the tumor allowing him to eat and breathe w/o pain.  Dad is very weak and extremely fatigued from the constant pain.  He remains at the VA in Fargo where he is being spoiled rotten by the amazing nurses, CNA’s and of course mom!  We are incredibly grateful for the calls, texts, cards, flowers, visits and prayers. Thank you for your continued love and prayers as we help dad fight this disease.
