Hello Prayer Warriors!!

OUR GOD IS AWESOME!!!!!

First we thank God for His provision of love through Jesus Christ our Savior!

Thanks and blessings to you and your family.  Geraud and I are thankful, appreciative and so blessed that you
have decided to walk this journey with Roddie.

Roddie had a four hour surgery on May 31, 2018 to reduce the size of a noncancerous brain tumor which was the size of a golf ball.  God covered him because the tumor was a threat to his vision.  Almost two years later the tumor is growing in size.

The neurosurgeon isn't comfortable doing another surgery since the first surgery was so delicate. Treatment is crucial as the tumor is pressing on Roddie's optic nerve and brain tissue.
The doctors had a consultation and recommended  shrinking the tumor through radiation.
After meeting with the radiation oncologist, Dr. Jennifer Peterson and a host of specialist, Roddie will follow the recommended treatment plan of five and one half weeks of radiation.  Shrinking the tumor removes the threat of vision lost and negative impact on surrounding brain tissue.

The radiation oncologist said if Roddie did not begin treatment within eight weeks his vision would be impacted. (this is week three of the eight weeks window)

For a second opinion, UFHealth Proton therapy department also reviewed Roddie's records.  They said even if Roddie received Proton therapy, the benefits would be the same as the suggested plan.

So Roddie's radiation therapy began on Wednesday May 13th.  Treatment is Monday through Friday until June 22, 2020 at Mayo Clinic.

At this writing Roddie has received two radiation treatments. Roddie laid very still during both treatments.
He doesn't appear to be stressed of afraid.  I signed to him that the machines was putting some medicine in his head to help him.  A special mask was created to hold his head in place during radiation treatment.
So far it appears that Roddie likes the mask and thinks it's cool.

The side effects of the therapy is extreme tiredness and for some memory issues.

We're requesting prayers for Roddie....
Pray Roddie will feel the Lord's presence in the radiation treatment room (as he is alone during radiation therapy)
Pray Roddie will remain still during treatment and not be afraid
Pray the tumor will shrink and die
Pray Roddie's vision will remain in tact
Pray no brain cells will be affected
Pray his memory will not be affected
Pray Roddie will not have any side effects

Daily..... a short paragraph on how Roddie's radiation therapy went for the day will be added.

So check back for updates....

You are loved and appreciated!!

Ephesians 3:20,21
