Rocky’s Story

Site created on February 24, 2019

Hi everyone, welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep everyone updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

Writing these updates will be his daughter, Sam.

On Wednesday, February 6th, Rocky woke up with yellow-tinted eyes, feeling sick and unsure what was going on. He brought himself into the Emergency Room in Waconia, MN, where they transferred him to Hennepin County Medical Center in downtown Minneapolis . Upon his arrival, doctors performed a number of tests, including MRIs, ultrasounds, and blood work.

On Friday, February 8th, he was told by doctors that he has cirrhosis of the liver, as well as showing signs of kidney failure. His team of doctors went to work treating him with a variety of medications. Unfortunately, his kidneys and liver have not shown any signs of improvement over the weeks he's been in the hospital, meaning that there is little else the doctors can do for him.

These past few weeks, he has had dozens of visitors from friends and family. What a blessing it has been to have such amazing friends.

On February 26th, 2019, he passed away with loved ones by his side. He was at peace and in no pain, being taken care of by some of the most compassionate nurses and doctors.

He is being cremated and a celebration of life will be planned in his honor, with more information on that coming soon.

Thank you for all of your support.
