Journal entry by Robin Welch Wood

Hello everyone. I wanted to update you on what has happened and what's currently going on...
Earlier this summer, Tommy had surgery to remove his gall bladder...all went well and after a week plus, he went back to work. On July 2nd, I had total knee replacement...again, all went well. Then, on July 10th, Tommy had to be taken from his job to the ER at Katy's Methodist hospital where they discovered he had an intestinal blockage. He was taken to Methodist in The Woodlands where they operated to remove the blockage and at that time, found that he had lymphoma. Pathology found that it was Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
We are now in the process of A) Tommy recovering from major surgery and getting his strength back (he lost a lot of weight and is understandably weak) along with B) Going here and there for a variety of Doctor appointments and scheduling tests and procedures. I am back to walking unassisted (although I do tire and become sore easily) and have started driving again. Tommy remains at home regaining his strength and preparing mentally for the chemo treatments to come. The doctor that performed the surgery must clear Tommy for a bone marrow biopsy before the onchologist will be able to see all the pathology and test results and then be able to finalize a treatment plan.

For now, we wait for Tommy to get stronger as we make this and that doctor's appointment and scheduled test. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we continue through this ordeal.
