Robin Su’s Story

Welcome to Robin's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Hi my name is Madison. My mom Robin Howard had found a lump on Feb 5th while doing a self examination. She had mammogram and ultrasound on Monday Feb. 22nd. She had a biopsy on 23rd and was diagnosed cancer on Thursday Feb 25th. She has been getting Mammograms every year or 2 for the past 10 years.

Her diagnosis is triple negative invasive ductal cancer in her left breast. It is a stage 2 and grade 3. As of right now she has started her first chemo session. Chemo will last 20 weeks then recovery. Followed by surgery and possibly radiation. We have not gotten back results to see if she has the BRCA gene but will update as soon as we do. Some treatments may change along the way but this is the plan so far. We have not decided which surgery we will be doing but will update as we do.

This was very unexpected. Mom is a single mom with 9 year old at home. She is extremely strong and doesn't like to ask for help but needs it. I know her finances and Kennedy are her biggest worries. We want to make this next year go as smoothly as possible for her with the least amount of stress as possible so she gets well faster. Nevin and I live 5 min away and will be helping as much as we can around our work schedules. Nevin will be helping with the nursery. Most of our family and friends are in Florida. With new friends and neighbors here in South Hero, everyone has been amazing, asking how to help and what she needs. We thought this would be a good way to do things in an organized way. We thank you for all the prayers, help and reaching out. I know it means the world to my momma.

Love, Madison (https://www.caringbridge.org/assets/ugc/1927a7/420f6331-441e-4ca0-aca3-1cbaff02cc88.jpg)
