Robert’s Story

Site created on July 18, 2019

My father was diagnosed with Thymic cancer at the beginning of July. It has truly taken us all by surprise and we are trying to figure out what is best at this time. We have really appreciated the help and love that has poured out from our friends and family. I know there are so many people who are worried for him and want to keep up with his progress, so I decided to run this page so my mom can focus on caring for him and Dad can focus on getting better.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Leah Lumpkin

An update is definitely overdue, but February is such a busy time for us with Mom's birthday and Mom and Dad's anniversary. With all the craziness happening right now, its a big blessing for us to get to slow down for a second and just enjoy those things together. The trip to the Mayo clinic was good because it established a treatment plan that includes immunotherapy that dad started a few weeks go. Dad did briefly enjoy not looking like Mr Clean, but the look has made a comeback :)    (though he doesn't really mind)
Please continue to pray for healing and that Dad can manage the side effects with the new treatment. Thank you all for your continued support.
