I just heard about Rob's passing. I would like to send my condolences to his family. I became friends with Rob in the late sixties when we were both in LRY. Even though we were not in touch I still considered him one of my friends and it was an honor to know him. I was invited to the house for tea one time when I was on a business trip to Minneapolis and the thing I recall the best was how devoted he was to his family. I am so sorry that he is gone.

I deeply appreciated being able to livestream the Portland memorial service. Thank you for offering that to those of us who could not be present in person. It was a beautiful, intimate, loving, family-centered tribute to Rob. My love goes out to Janne, Jonah, Jessie, and Hannah and spouses and grandchildren as you grieve his death.

What a blessing to be able attend Rob's service remotely yesterday, to get to know him in a fuller way and to honor his unique and impactful life. Holding all of you in my mind and heart.

Janne, I cried out aghast when I read of your own horrific health challenge, on top of all the deep constant worry and deep constant caregiving you have lavished these past months on your beloved Rob. Do take good care of your precious self!
