Robin’s Story

Site created on February 27, 2021

*Robin is former military, having served 13 years in the Marine Corps and served as Military Policeman and Criminal Investigator.  After having left the Marine Corps she became an instructor at the Marine Corps' Basic Police Academy (MCAS Miramar, CA as well as MCB Camp Lejeune, NC) and later became a police officer (civilian) within the USMC/DOD community, aboard MCB Camp Lejeune.   In February, Robin was diagnosed with breast cancer; Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC), low Stage 2 and Ductal Carcinoma In Situ ( DCIS), affecting both breasts and lymph node involvement in her right arm pit.  Her spirits are up, there's a plan and a phenomenal care and support team.  Robin is learning to place an enormous amount of trust in her medical team!  If you know Robin, she's always been a fighter and she is ready to battle!

*Her next life saving steps are to undergo a double mastectomy, 2 different protocols of chemotherapy, there's a possibility of radiation therapy and breast reconstruction once she's deemed in the clear.  After that, there's 5 years of medications to block cancer cells from returning.

*If you wish to make a monetary donation to ease the burdens of the financial strains, you will find a tab below labeled Personal Fundraiser, from there you may then select the GoFundMe.  (Tribute directs donations to CaringBridge)  Any contributions; however small, are much appreciated.

*She will add brief status updates (Journal tab) and photos (Gallery tab) of her amazing journey.   So stay tuned and keep Robin in your prayers.
