Journal entry by SARA BALTZ —
First of all, I wanted to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity through your kind words, stories & memories about Rick, your thoughts and prayers, your donations, and your help through all of this. I truly believe you all have helped more than you can imagine.
During the service on Sunday, June 24, Rabbi Walter mentioned a google doc we created to add memories to. It is by far incomplete, but if you'd like to see the family's collective memories, access this Google Doc. If you would like to read my "Memories of Daddy" I shared during the service, please access the link provided.
Lastly, now that the dust is starting to settle from Ollie's and Rick's passing, we are settling in to what seems to be our "new" normal. This is the first time in Debbie's adult life she has experienced being alone. Rick would regularly stop home during his lunch break and have dinner with her after work - it was their routine. My sweet sister-in-law, Charity, has set up a Meal Train for Debbie. As her extended family, friends and community, let's help by giving her a new routine. Please sign up to have lunch or dinner with her. Take her out, stop by, or invite her over: Meal Train Sign-up
Sending you all lots of love,
Sara
P.S. We would love it if you would add your own memories to this journal in the comments. Rick will live on through all of our memories.
