Rick’s Story

Site created on August 30, 2021

Rick has been in his battle with COVID 19 since the first week of August (roughly around the 3rd). He has been at Memorial Hermann Memorial city hospital since Sunday, August 15. He had a heart attack while at MH and was moved to ICU on Tuesday, August 17. The heart attack appeared to show No damage! He is currently intubated.   We thank you for being here. We thank you for your prayers.

Journal entry by Morgan Aderhold

Today, Rick Baty was taken to his final resting place in Franklin, Texas. It was a beautiful day, surrounded by our family and friends.

I want to thank each of you who have supported Kathy and Ricks family during this incredibly tragic time. I ask that you please continue to lift them up in the weeks and months to come.

I feel like I’ve met so many amazing people on this journey. I hope each of you know how much your words have impacted me in a positive light. Forever thankful Uncle Ricky led me to each of you.

Lastly, I had a handful of people ask about my family friend, Angel and how he was doing. He was in room 313, Rick was in 302. Just a few doors down from each other (with only 18 beds total) on the unit. Sadly, angel gained his wings today. Angel was 52.

may you always feel the power of the last words Uncle Ricky wrote me.
“I love you. Peace and love”

rest easy uncle Ricky, Morgan
