In the company of his loved ones, Richard A. Zavala, age 58, passed away on Friday July 24th, 2020. Richard was born on January 4th, 1962 in Superior, AZ to Mike and Anna (DaRugna) Zavala. He graduated from Superior High School and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Arizona State University.  Rich began working at Motay Electronics where he met the love of his life, Tobi Alderman.  They were married on May 25th, 1991 and welcomed their son Ryan into the family two years later. He began his long career at HighRel in 1995 where he worked as Vice President of Operations and Engineering. Rich loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan and traveled yearly to baseball and football games with his wife and friends. He was a supportive and loving husband and father who never failed to lend a helping hand. Rich devoted his time to showing his family and friends that he loved them and would always be there when they needed him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years Tobi, their son Ryan, daughter-in-law Jackie, brother Michael (Kathy), sister Anna Campos (Danny), and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Hope Church Movement or H.A.L.O. Animal Rescue in Richard’s name. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington NM for their tireless fight to heal Rich and for their compassion and support of the family. We will never forget what a blessing they were. Services will be announced at a later date.

Journal entry by Tobi Zavala

Good morning and happy Saturday! I am trying to get a general count who will be attending this special tribute to such an amazing man, husband, father, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. If I don't talk to you regularly and you are on here and you plan to attend please "heart" this entry. This is so unconventional, hard to communicate and keep track. Now that you have read this.....please go take pictures and make memories with your family and friends.
