10/28 4am - The pastor has left the building

dad departed from this earth at 4am this morning. My brother Kent and I were at his side, I was holding his hand when he took his last breath. He joins Mom and my sister Cindy and I like to think they introduced him to his lord and savior for the first time today and hearing those words “well done good and faithful.”

Our prayers were answered on the timing as lastnigjt was filled with loved ones and family visiting and calling saying good bye and thank you.

services will be in Wisconsin, details to come.

thank you for your prayers.

Update 10/27 - dad back at methodist hospital - looks like we are in the last few days. We are visiting as he goes in and out of sleep, listening to Gaither songs - preparing to walk the streets of gold, (because we all know that will be heavens sound track) Appreciate prayers for this special time.

updated 10/19/18 - Dad has been struggling.   The Dr told him we are probably in a 2-5 month season to go be with Jesus. We have met with hospice but dad currently desires to hopefully return to the nursing home, participate in PT and retain the ability to communicate with friends and family.
He has been in the hospital this last week. In August, he began receiving treatments for leukemia in addition to his diabetes, leg wounds and misc ailments.   However,  his white blood count remains very high and nothing they have tried is bringing it down to normal. He has received blood transfusions every other week to bring his hemoglobin up

Oct. 10 we moved him out of his assisted living apartment into the nursing home Wing permanently because he became to weak to transfer from wheelchair.
Then on October 13 he was very lethargic and began having trouble breathing and was taken to hospital. He had a lot of fluid built up which limited the heart getting oxygen into his system
Currently he complains about his  leg hurting , remains on oxygen and seems very tired. However not sure how much of the tiredness is because of getting sleep medication and Tylenol. He remains on diuretics as there is still some excess fluid in his body.    The hope is this will get better and then he can return on Monday to Maranatha.
He would love cards and phone calls and any correspondence and visits  from friends and family.

Currently we are prayIng that
- his remaining time during this last season he would be able to connect with and bless his loved ones
- he would feel God’s presence very close to him
- he can return to Maranatha  from hospital soon
- he will be physically comfortable throughout this final season
- discernment and understanding for future medical and hospice decisions
